Terms & Conditions

Applicability

1.1 These general terms and conditions apply to the realization and content of all reservations or bookings and to offers regarding the realization of reservations or bookings at The Bulldog Hotel, made by natural persons for themselves or for a group and made by organizations for others, hereinafter also “Persons”, “Guests” or “Groups”, and to the performance of activities by The Bulldog Hotel, hereinafter also “The Hotel” or “We”.

1.2 The applicability of (general) terms and conditions of other organizations is explicitly rejected by The Bulldog Hotel.

1.3 Deviations from and supplements to these Terms and Conditions shall only be valid if explicitly agreed in writing, in an e-mail, contract or order confirmation.

1.4 The Bulldog Hotel reserves the right to change and or modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

2. Before reservation Notice – Valid ID required, Minimum age

2.1 To make a reservation or book a room, a valid ID (identification document) for all Guests is required. It is not possible to check in or stay at The Bulldog Hotel without a valid ID.

2.2 The Minimum age to enter or stay at The Bulldog Hotel is 18 years of age or older.

2.3 The Bulldog Hotel Reserves the right to refuse guests without luggage.

3. Reservations, Maximum / Minimum stay, Maximum amount of Persons:

3.1 The maximum booking length for all reservations is 10 days

3.2 Maximum reservation size is 8 Persons. Combination bookings (multiple room bookings for more than 8 people) that attempt to circumvent this rule may result in the cancellation of the bookings on arrival, see par 6. Bookings larger than 8 Persons see Par.10

3.3 We have Minimum stay periods for Weekends, New Years Eve and Kingsday Holidays:

  • two (2) night Minimum stay on weekends for all bookings that include a Friday and/or Saturday night;
  • Three (3) nights Minimum stay on New Years Eve for all bookings that include any of Dec 31st and/or 1st of Jan;
  • two (2) nights Minimum stay on Kingsday / Kingsnight for all bookings that include April 26th (Kingsnight) and/or April 27th (Kingsday).

3.4 All reservations (made by telephone, email, online or otherwise) require a valid credit card number, email address and nationality at the time of booking. Online booking sites may require additional information. We reserve the right to refuse reservations if the given credit card or personal information (par 2.1) is incorrect or false.

4. Reservations made by (online) Travel Agencies

4.1 (online) Travel agents or agencies who want to book accommodation at The Bulldog Hotel for their clients must contact us directly at groups@bulldoghotel.com.

4.2 We refuse bookings by (online)Travel agents and agencies that use The Bulldog Hotel online booking engine. Reservations made by (online) Travel agencies via the online booking system will be considered null and void.

5. Confirmation and booking number

5.1 All reservations receive a booking confirmation number. If you do not have a booking confirmation number, you do not have a proper reservation/booking.

5.2 If you have not received a booking confirmation, and believe you have made a reservation, please email immediately: info@bulldoghotel.com.

5.3 Guests should be able to provide their booking confirmation number at check-in.

5.4 Guests booking through online travel agencies (OTA’s) will receive booking confirmations from the respective agency. Changes and cancellations should be made through the agency used to book at The Bulldog Hotel.

6. Changes and Cancellations, Late Cancellations / No-Show

6.1  Cancellations or changes must be received by Midnight/00:00 (Central European Time), 72 hours prior to 1500 of your arrival date. Bookings charged as per PAR 7.1 of the terms and conditions are not eligible for refund if cancelled within the aforementioned 72 hours period. For New Year’s Bookings (Dec 29, 30, 31 and Jan 1) cancellation policies see PAR 6.8.

6.2 Cancellations can only be made by email to info@bulldoghotel.com from the address used at the time of booking. We do not accept cancellations by telephone.

6.3 Cancellation for Group bookings can only be made per email. Cancellation terms for groups are provided in the offers and booking confirmations from our groups department, For details of the group cancellation policies, please contact groups@bulldoghotel.com

6.4 All email cancellations will receive a cancellation confirmation reply from The Bulldog Hotel. This cancellation form will serve as proof of cancellation in case of dispute. If you have not received this cancellation confirmation reply, your booking has not been cancelled.

6.5 Combination bookings (multiple room bookings for more than 8 people) that circumvents the maximum reservation restriction (Par 3.2) may result in the cancellation of the bookings by The Bulldog Hotel. If a combination booking is cancelled 100% of the first night is charged.

6.6 We do not accept cancellation procedures provided at Online Booking Agents (OTA’S) like Hotelworld.com, Gomio.com, Hotelsclub.com, Hotelbookers.com etc. The cancellation policy in this (PAR 6) overrules any policy listed on OTA websites.

6.7 The Bulldog Hotel is not responsible for cancellations, no-shows or altered reservations due to Guest input error, flight cancellations, strikes, or other situations of force majeure.

6.8 Cancellation of any or all reservations/bookings which include any of the 29th, 30th, 31st of December and/or 1st January cancelled within 7 days of arrival will result in the charge of 100% of all nights of the booking to the credit card provided.

7. Payments, Payment Methods, Credit Cards

7.1 The total amount of the First nights Accommodation, inclusive of VAT (9%), will be charged to the card provided during the booking process 72 Hours (3 days) prior to arrival. This payment does not include any portion of products selected in the booking process or any portion of the Tourist Tax (par 7.5)

7.2 Bookings for which payment is not received 72 Hours prior to arrival (as per par 7.1 ) due to incorrect details, insufficient funds or other reasons will have the subsequent 24 hours to provide updated and valid credit card information.

7.3 Bookings for which payments are not received 72 Hours (3 days prior to arrival) and have not provided updated and valid credit card information within the subsequent 24 hours will have their bookings cancelled and will be notified by email.

7.4 Prices include VAT (9%).

7.5 The Amsterdam City/Tourist tax will be applied on arrival to your accommodation total.  For 2020, the City of Amsterdam has instituted a tourist tax of 7% of the accommodation total + a €3.00 per person per night flat fee.

7.6 Non Refundable Bookings are charged 100% of the accommodation total at the time of booking. No part of the Tourist Tax is paid before arrival (see PAR 7.5 for additional information.)

7.7 Non Refundable Bookings for which payment is not accepted, will be cancelled immediately upon failure of the payment.

7.8 If you wish to pay in cash, The Bulldog Hotel accepts Euro’s (€) only. It is not possible to pay in other currencies. All credit card payments are made in Euros (€).

7.9 We accept the following Credit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express. The credit card holder agrees that the credit card provided during the reservation process may be used as a security deposit for the booking.

7.10 In the event of damage or unacceptable behavior, the cardholder agrees that The Bulldog Hotel can charge the provided credit card for the estimated cost of extra cleaning, repair or replacement of damaged items. Guests should inform the hotel reception immediately in case of (any) found damage(s) as soon as they enter their room for the first time.

7.11 If the credit card information provided becomes null or void (eg- theft, loss of card), it is the Guests responsibility to notify The Bulldog Hotel of said changes prior to the arrival date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your reservation without notification. We reserve the rights to follow the Cancellation procedure in par 6. We do not provide refunds.

7.12 Guests cannot enter the rooms until the full amount due is paid. All payments are per booking number. It is not possible to split payments with a single reservation/booking number.

8. Prepayments:

8.1 It is possible to pay for the entirety of your booking prior to arrival by credit card only. For pre-payment by credit card or bank transfers, please contact info@bulldoghotel.com and include your booking confirmation number. We do not accept prepayments within 7 days of arrival due to processing times.

8.2 The Bulldog Hotel will provide refunds on pre-paid bookings, provided  they have followed the procedures (PAR 6). Within 72 hours of arrival, we do not provide any refunds on pre-paid bookings.

8.3 Bookings that include any of Dec 29th, 30th, 31st and 1st of Jan are required to pay the 100% of the first nights total prior to arrival. The Bulldog reserves the right to charge this anytime following your reservation.  Payments made for the aforementioned dates are non refundable.

8.4  Bookings that require a confirmation for Visa Purposes are required to pay (at minimum) the total price of the first night’s accommodation.  These payments are non refundable. Failure to secure a Visa or cancellation of the booking are not grounds for refund.

9. Discounts/packages:

9.1 Guests are responsible for asking for applicable discounts prior to payment. It is not possible to get (any) discount after the payment at check in or for prepaid bookings. We do not provide refunds for amounts paid that may have been eligible for discounts.

9.2 If more than one discount is applicable, The Bulldog will provide the guest with the discount that offers them the largest savings. We do not combine discounts.

9.3 Not all discounts and packages are available during the High Season (May 01-Sept 30).

10. Group Bookings and information:

10.1 All bookings larger than 8 persons are considered Group bookings.

10.2 If you want to book accommodation at The Bulldog Hotel for more than 8 people contact us directly at groups@bulldoghotel.com.  Cancellation procedures for group bookings deviate from standard bookings (par 6). The cancellation period for group bookings is indicated on your booking confirmation and agreement.

10.3 Bookings that are not made through our groups department (par 10.2) risk being cancelled without notification (par 6).

10.4 We will refuse reservations for stag nights, sport tours and/or soccer fans for (inter)national matches, which is based on experience in the past.

10.5 Dormitory rooms booked as private rooms for groups are sold per room. Cancellation of individual beds will not alter the price. The Bulldog Hotel will not place individuals into a room booked for a private group.  It is therefore the responsibility of the group to pay for all beds in this room for the duration of their stay, unless agreed with management prior to arrival at The Bulldog Hotel.

10.6 Group bookings are required to pay a minimum deposit of the total amount of the first night as indicated on your temporary booking confirmation. Failure to pay this deposit prior to the date indicated may result in the cancellation of your booking.

10.7  A valid credit card is required on or prior to  arrival , to be used as security deposit for the booking.  Guests who arrive without a valid credit card, may be asked for a minimum of €200.00 Security Deposit. Cash deposits are returned at check out upon examination of the room. Any Damage to the room will be assessed and the value deducted from the Deposit provided.

11. House Rules

11.1 Guests are obliged to follow the House Rules, and shall behave with respect towards other guests and Hotel staff and shall be held responsible for their own actions within the Hotel, during their stay on the premises of the Hotel.

11.2 The hotel staff and owners shall be absolved of any responsibility and costs in connection with the actions of its guests and/or visitors.

11.3 Booking a room & checking into or entering into The Bulldog Hotel means also accepting, but not limited to, the following House Rules:

  • People under the age of 18 are not permitted on the premises (even if accompanied by an adult).
  • No pets/animals are permitted on the premises;
  • No sleeping bags are permitted in the rooms;
  • Smoking is not permitted in the rooms;
  • Guests other than Hotel guests who like to visit our bar-lounge can only be accepted when the security is present at the door. If you have friends that would like to visit, please inform the reception prior to their arrival.

11.4 Additional House rules are found on the back of each room’s Door. Ignorance is not a valid excuse for not obeying the house rules.

12. Smoking

12.1 All rooms at the Bulldog Hotel are strictly NON SMOKING. Our Lounge Bar provides a comfortable and safe place for guests to experiment with the finest plant resins in Amsterdam. There is NO TOBACCO permitted anywhere inside the Bulldog Hotel.

12.2 Tobacco smoking is permitted only outside or on our 4th floor roof terrace (open 11 AM – 11 PM, weather permitting).  Marijuana/Hashish smoking is permitted in our Lounge Bar.

13. Right of Refusal and Removal, responsibility, liability

13.1 The Bulldog Hotel reserves the right to refuse a Guest or a Group  if, on arrival and even after check in, management reasonably considers that the Guest or even one Guest of the Group is under the influence of alcohol or hard-drugs, is unsuitably dressed,  is behaving in a threatening, abusive or otherwise unacceptable manner, or fails to follow our house rules.

13.2 The Bulldog Hotel is for international travelers, we do not accept travelers without luggage.

13.3 Upon any performance as described below, you will be removed and checked out immediately without any refund:

  • If you bring in guests other than Hotel-guests in the rooms & apartments.
  • If you possess, bring in or use hard drugs in the Hotel.
  • If you carry or bring in weapons.
  • If you cause a disturbance, annoy other guests or staff or behave in an unacceptable or disrespectful manner.

13.4 The Bulldog Hotel is not responsible, nor liable to guests, visitors, staff or otherwise, for injury, theft, loss of property, damage to personal belongings, assault or other unlawful acts.

13.5 Any liability of the Hotel is limited to the amount the insurance of the Hotel will pay in that specific case.

13.6 In the event of injury, theft, loss of property, damage to personal belongings, assault or other unlawful acts, caused to the Hotel, its Staff, other Guests or any third party, by a Guest, whether or not as a result of a violation of the House Rules, these Terms and Conditions, a default or unlawful act committed by the guest, the Guest is liable for all damage caused to the Hotel, its Staff, other Guests or any third party.

14. Lost & Found

14.1 The Bulldog Hotel is not obliged to keep and preserve items for Guests. Guests are encouraged to use the locker or safe provided for the storing of valuable items. Expensive items may be left for storage with reception at own risk. The Hotel is not responsible nor liable for damage, loss or theft of any item belonging to Guests.

14.2 Found items will be kept for one week after the departure date. Highly Valuable items (such as smartphones, laptops, tablets etc.) will be kept for a longer period.

14.3 Please contact info@bulldoghotel.com for all lost and found enquiries.  Please note that we cannot guarantee the recovery of forgotten items.

14.4 The Bulldog Hotel will assist in sending your forgotten items to your home country or to an alternate accommodation. In addition to postal and packaging charges, there is a €10.00 administrative fee for this service.  Payments for Lost and found postage can be made via PayPal or credit card.

15. Additional information about Check-in, Security Cards , Wristbands and Check-out

15.1 Check-in is guaranteed by 3 PM. We always try to check our guests in as early as possible.

15.2 At check in, all Guests will receive a Bulldog Hotel Security card or Wristband, these are used to access the Bulldog Hotel 24/7. Lost keycards are €10.00 for replacement. Checking out without returning your keycard will result in a charge of €10.00 to the credit card provided at the time of booking.

15.3 All guests must keep their Security pass or Wristband with them for the duration of their stay at The Bulldog Hotel at all times. It is required to present your Security pass or Wristband to the reception or security each time you enter the hotel. Failure to have your Security Pass or Wristband may result in refusal to enter the Hotel.

15.4 The beds are numbered. You can find your bed number on your security card or Wristband. Staying in other beds is not allowed and could result in an extra charge.

15.5 Check-out is no later than 11 AM.  Late check outs may be charged up to the bed price during that night per person.

15.6. Luggage Storage is provided in a locked and camera secured room.  The Bulldog Hotel does not accept liability for items left in the luggage rooms. The Bulldog Hotel is not responsible for items lost , stolen , damaged or otherwise while kept in the hotel luggage rooms.

16. Applicable law and disputes

16.1 All agreements between the Guest and the Bulldog Hotel are exclusively governed by Dutch law.

16.2 Disputes between The Bulldog Hotel and a Guest, shall be resolved exclusively by the competent court in Amsterdam, unless a different court has jurisdiction pursuant to mandatory statutory provision.

16.3 In deviation from par. 16.2, the Bulldog Hotel and the Guest can agree to choose a different method for dispute resolution.
